Maura is soo protective here. As much as she can be and desires to be Jane’s main support. She doesn’t want anything to happen to her best friend…and this is where the ending is so strong. Jane sees it happening to herself and the only person that is always there for her and she can’t fathom Maura living her nightmare. Maura never wanted to live Jane’s and she is forced to see someone she cares for living it all over again.
I‘ve had this thought more than once. It scares me every time.
